Orange Maca Bonbons
Everyone loves a soft-centred chocolate, right? We sure do here at Elevated Cacao. Well, for your delight and pleasure, here’s a delicious recipe with a lush centre that we’re sure you will enjoy! It combines two of our favourite flavours, Maca & Orange. It’s caramel taste with a zesty, orange vibe makes for pure heaven. Dipped and then decorated with our Cardamom Orange Vanilla Buckwheat makes for an elegant finish. These little gems are a joy to make and devour!
80g Melted Cacao Butter
60g Melted Coconut Oil
80g Almond Butter (the smoother the better)
20g Maca Powder
20g Vegan Protein Powder (I used flavourless but you can use what you like)
75g Coconut Nectar
35g Coconut Sugar
8 Drops Sweet Orange Essential Oil
1 tbsp Fresh Orange Zest (finely grated)
½ tsp Vanilla Powder
5 drops Vanilla Medicine Flower Extract
5 drops Caramel Medicine Flower Extract
1 Pinch Pink Salt
40g Warm Water
Place all ingredients (except water) in a Vitamix and blend on low speed to combine.
With the blender on low, slowly add the warm water until the mixture is smooth and caramel-like.
Line your desired tin / container with glad wrap. The size of the container will depend on the size you would like to cut your bonbon’s into.
Put in the fridge and allow to set for 3-5 hours.
Remove the mixture from the tin / container and remove the glad wrap.
Cut the mixture into your desired shape. I made small squares this time (pictured), but you might like to try bars, thins, etc.
Dip in tempered chocolate and garnish with our Cardamom Orange Vanilla Buckwheat.
